Smokey Bear’s Birthday Celebration

We are very excited to have the honor of being chosen from Libraries across the State to share in Smokey Bear’s Birthday Celebration! This was an application process asking the question why would your town benefit from a visit by Smokey?
We said, “Mason is small, but mighty; the majority of our land is forest and we care about the rural character and abundant wildlife.” Just to name a few reasons.
There will be giveaways for children and adults, educational information as well as Forestry Fire trucks for a “touch-a-truck” experience.

Smokey will arrive at the Gazebo via fire engine, and our oldest active firefighter, Nancy Richards, will cut the birthday cake!

Please plan to come to show your support for our Town, the Fire Department, Mason Library and Nancy Richards. We are a “mighty” group! This event will begin at 10:30 am and is not just for children.

Thank you.
