This is the scoping meeting for a town on the 12″ lateral line, the same lateral that will run through the middle of Mason
A “Scoping” meeting is an opportunity to make a request of FERC to investigate anything related to the potential environmental impact of Kinder-Morgan’s proposed Northeast Energy Direct (NED) pipeline as the FERC prepares an Environmental Impact Statement relative to the pipelines. When attending the meeting there are two ways you can have an impact.
1. You can show up an hour early and put your name on a list. If time allows you’ll be permitted 3 minutes to speak – strictly related to environmental impact issues.
2. 2. You can elect to attend and not speak – it’s important that we have a show of force to demonstrate our opposition to this project by covering the available media with as much information relative to our opposition of the pipeline as possible. There will be cameras & roving reporters who need to hear from all of us. In these cases your comments do not need to be limited to the environment.
A sparsely attended event will be a victory for Kinder-Morgan.
