Rail Trail Trestle Construction Help Wanted

Skilled Carpenter, Handyman, and/or Construction Worker Needed

After 25 years, the Jackson Road Trestle bridge on the Mason Railroad Trail needs repair. Mason Conservation Commission is seeking a skilled carpenter, handyman, or construction worker to replace the ties that form the bridge decking and to repair a damaged part of the railing. The work must be done with similar materials and to the same design as the existing bridge.

To check out the site, there is parking for one vehicle near the northeast corner of the Jackson Road bridge, then climb up the embankment to see the top of the bridge. For working at the site, access would be possible from Depot Road. Bids may be sent to Mason Conservation Commission, Mann House, 16 Darling Hill Road, Mason NH 03048. Please send bids by Wed. August 10th and specify an estimated completion date in your bid.

Bids will be opened at the Conservation Commission meeting on Wed, August 10th, at 8:30PM. Mason Conservation Commission reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.

If you have any questions, please call Commission member Liz Fletcher at 878-2539. The Jackson Road trestle will be closed until repairs are complete.
